BIOT 5923 - Food Safety Credit Hours: 3 Through this course students will comprehend principles of and problems in evaluating the wholesomeness / safety of bioengineered plant- and animal-based foods, food components as well as intentional and unintentional additives. Biotechnological controls of food borne microorganisms in foods and food processing systems will be emphasized in order to give the students hands-on experience.
