The Food and Nutrition (FDNU) concentration aims to prepare students to become ambassadors of health and wellness for individuals, families and communities. The FDNU concentration prepares students to work in a variety of settings such as food services, community based organizations, research and education. Students are prepared with a comprehensive curriculum derived from the areas of food and nutrition sciences.

Accreditation

The department is accredited by the Council of Accreditation of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

General Program Requirement for All Majors

All programs require active pre-professional participation in a professional organization. All majors may elect to join the American Association of Family Sciences (AAFCS). Dues must be paid at the beginning of each school term. Majors with a FDNU concentration may become student affiliate members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic.
