The Psychology minor program is a minimum 15 credit hour program designed to introduce students in other major degree programs to a) the major concepts of understanding human behavior, b) explore their individual interests in psychology, which may be applied in virtually any field of work or help prepare you for more in-depth study of psychology at the graduate level or application in the workforce and c) the major concepts, findings, and theoretical perspectives of psychology. To graduate with a minor that will be noted on the student’s permanent record, the student must complete the requirements for the specific minor as stipulated in the FVSU catalog. Students must submit to the Office of the Registrar a change of major form declaring a minor in Psychology. Minors are only awarded in conjunction with a baccalaureate degree.
Requirements: Students must take PSYC 1101 Introductions to Psychology and pass with a C or better before enrolling for minor requirement courses. To complete minor students must take PSYC 3023 Abnormal Psychology, PSYC 3033 Developmental Psychology and three (3) courses or 9 semester hours of 3000/4000 level Psychology Major Elective course with a grade of “C” or better in all the five courses.
