The Department of Languages and Liberal Studies offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Liberal Studies .
The Liberal Studies curriculum prepares students for graduate study allied fields such as law, medicine, and communications.
The department also provides courses which are taken by students in all other academic units. Courses in writing, literature, philosophy, and Spanish assist students in meeting their general education outcomes as required by the University. The Languages and Liberal Studies curricula are designed to provide the communication, thinking, cultural, creative, service and philosophical components of traditional liberal arts. Courses offered by the department are designated as ENGL, FREN, ORGL, PHIL and SPAN.
