GEOL 3121L - Principles of Geology Lab

Credit Hours: 1
In this laboratory course, labs are designed to give students hands-on experience with rocks and minerals and provide them with an exploratory experience with various topics within Geology. By the end of this course, students will be able to: identify the common minerals using basic tools of observation; classify and identify igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, apply the principles of relative and absolute dating to analyze the geologic history of an outcrop/region; define and discuss Plate Tectonic Theory.
