PSYC 4090 - Psychology of Hip Hop

Credit Hours: 3
This course offers a critical analysis of Hip-Hop culture through an application of psychological concepts. Psychological theories will be applied to current psychological, ethical, and social issues as expressed through Rap Lyrics and Hip-Hop culture. Additionally, examining the therapeutic value of lyrical expression for artists and listeners. Biographical studies of Rap artists will be used to investigate the relationship between Hip-Hop culture and the larger society.
