EDSC 6264 - Alcohol and Other Drugs

Credit Hours: 3
In order to respond to the increasing influence of alcohol and other drugs on students,this course provides information and experiences to prepare school counselors to respond effectively. Causes and consequences of substance abuse as they relate to the individual, family, community, and society are discussed. Response to alternatives regarding intervention, treatment, education, and prevention are reviewed. Motivational Interviewing skills are assessed.
